The “Just A Jogger” Narrative is already collapsing

Whether or not it was prudent for Greg and Travis McMichael to hop in their truck and attempt to make a citizen’s arrest is a separate issue. Just because something’s legally permitted, doesn’t always make it prudent. If they get a fair trial and still get convicted of something, so be it.

But for those of us who are sick of the media’s games, fighting back against The Narrative is the most important task. Let the jury and the judge decide whether the McMichaels are guilty or innocent of manslaughter.** Regardless of their guilt or innocence, the idea that Ahmaud Arbery was “just jogging” is collapsing like a house of cards, which in turn dismantles the conception that the McMichaels killed him because he was black.

**Given all the facts known right now, I don’t think you can logically make the case for a murder conviction. But I’m not an attorney. This is my unprofessional opinion.
